Our phones are littered with them. Some of us have 80,000 in our pocket right this instant. We collect images like clothes, and when it comes time to clean out the closet? We just buy a bigger one from Apple for $0.99.

In 2023, Andy Ogburn and I put together a photo book that addresses digital hoarding and other facets of our media moment through the lens of language and signage. We kept our eyes peeled for the unbranded elements of communication that float in our world all but unnoticed — much like the digital flotsam moored to our phones.
